John Hendricks

Early Quakers were persecuted. In the Massachusetts Bay colony, Friends were banished on pain of death.

John Hendricks was born about 1697. His parents were James Hendricks and Lucy Duckett. James was the son of Albertus Hendricks.

He married Rebecca Worley on April 30, 1718 at the Chester Monthly Meeting. She was the daughter of Francis Worley and the sister of Francis Worley, Jr.

In 1723 John and Rebecca Hendricks took certificates to the New Garden Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

In 1726 John Hendricks settled Conestoga Township. Conestoga Township was formed in 1712 as part of Chester County. It became part of Lancaster County in 1729.

John died in 1751 in Pennsylvania..
